Entering a garden in its full bloom tingles the furtherest corner of our hearts. The variegated flower of bright colours and sweet fragrance refreshes everyone's hearts, mind and even souls. It is the distintness of each flower that adds to the overall beauty of the garden. For a while one is forced to marvel at nature and the gardener for maintaining the beauty of the garden.

The children adorn this world like the flowers in the garden. Every child is an unique creation of god. They are god's gift to this world to constantly energise and enliven it. God is a matchless designer and he has designed every individual distinctly. Even the children, who by the accident of fate suffer from some physical or mental hadicap, have some unusual traits which may be a rare attribute in children with normal features and vice versa. But the society has created its own standards to grade individuals. Without giving thoughtful attention to the different qualities of different child it rates children as per the set standard. This build unwanted pressure on the tender minds of children, who fail to meet the society's norms.

The child gets nutured by this parents and the society of which child and his family forms a part. Though parents are the source from whom a child gets his identity but still each child is a distinct individual in oneself. A child's innocent smile can be his/she best introduction, but the unscrupulous society overlooks its goodness to subdue it by financial. The child becomes an object of social ridicule hence undermining his confidence.

There are children who undergo mental trauma due to parents irresponsible behaviour, like the children of divorced parents. The child suffers emotionally due to absence of congenial family atmosphere. He/She lacks the love filled company of both parents togethers.

In this way and various other ways the pressure builds up in its subtile to expressed forms on child's mental and emotional health. The manifestation may lead a child to grow with psychological disorder. Some get depressed to the extend of committing suicide. Others become so despiseful for the mankind that they grow up to take revenge from the whole society for their childhood experience. They end up becoming antisocial elements like terrorists or hooligans.

Children are the assets of the whole civilization. It is responsibility of the whole society to redress the pain being caused to these children.

"Self Help" is an organization working towards the objective of restoring lost confidence in the children. We teach them to take various hardships as challanges, and to take these children to accept facts and live with them. We bring out a child's individually by following the policy of 'empathy and not sympathy'.

Our organization helps the children to harnes their best potentials by arousing their inner conscience. It teaches them that the inner strength can transcend all physical & mental weakness and it will help win a place for themselves in this world. The organization helps awaken these children to their hidden potentials to become productive citizens of society. We make these children realize their responsibility towards the fellow beings, their society and their country, as an individual. We instil confidence in each child such that they can bear society's callous behaviour graciously and grow up as an asset for the country and not the liability.
